El Gran Charro - Fredericksburg: Your New Favorite Mexican Restaurant

Food looks good when ordered for pickup. However, they left out the flour tortilla shells in our expensive order even though the receipt clearly outlines them for our fajitas. Otherwise, it would've been a 5-star review.

We ate here yesterday for lunch for the first time. Our server was awesome, the food came SO fast and was all delicious. They also have the cold white sauce that I haven’t been able to find anywhere up this way. So that alone made me happy haha. All around wonderful experience, we have found our new favorite spot.

My newest favorite Mexican restaurant! The food here is 10/10 and the service is as well! One thing that I really appreciate is that they offer white salsa, not many restaurants in the area offer this. If you’re vegetarian you’ll be happy to know they have a separate part of the menu strictly for vegetarians, I appreciate this because usually at Mexican restaurants it’s just cheese or beans here you have a few options and it’s clarified you’re ordering vegetarian and not mistaken for another dish. Hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Fredericksburg area, if you’re passing by or live near you should stop and give them a try!

First time customer. Stopped in for lunch. Greeted immediately with chips and salsa. Salsa was very fresh and quite tasty. Food was made to order - came out hot and very fresh. Quesadillas and Enchiladas were exceptional. Place is quite noisy. When kids are screaming, it echoes very loudly. Prices for lunch are very fair. Would we come back, absolutely.

Tucked into a small plaza, you might not know it's there, but thos place is an excellent, quick, affordable lunch spot! Many lunch specials for just $6.99, but I got one of the $9.99 specials. Fantastic quality, fresh and delicious, and still more affordable than many sit-down restaurants. Give them a try! Clean restroom s too!

We arrived around noon on a Friday in February. It wasn’t too busy when we arrived but it picked up over the next hour. The waitress arrived promptly with chips, salsa and white sauce and took our drink orders. When she came back with the drinks, we placed our food order. We had the lunch menu Fajitas Texana and Enchilada Supreme. They were very flexible as far as making substitutions. The food arrived extremely quickly, and the serving size was generous. The Fajitas had chicken, steak and shrimp along with the usual peppers and onions. The shrimp were a nice size as were the strips of chicken and beef. It tasted good except some of the steak was very stringy. The ground beef and chicken enchiladas were both tasty. The ground beef actually looked and tasted like ground beef rather than a beef paste. Oh, and their salsa is really good! We would return for sure.

The food is just bland. No real flavor or seasoning. However the staff are amazing and friendly. Great to bring your parents who can’t handle spice but if you are looking for something more traditional or with heat you may wish to look elsewhere

We love this place for lunch. (I assume it's good for dinner, too-- just haven't made it there yet except during the day.). Lunch specials are fabulous in quality and in bargain! My favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. Slightly less "cantina" and more "restaurant" in atmosphere than some others, but we love it.
